Placemaking Section

The Placemaking Section partners with government agencies, municipalities, and community stakeholders to advance planning and placemaking initiatives throughout Prince George’s County.  The mission of the section is to catalyze long-term improvements in the Downtowns, activate underutilized spaces, alleviate land use deficiencies, and enhance safety, accessibility, and economic vitality.  The section has three primary functions:

  • Downtown Implementation Program
  • GIS and 3D Visualizations
  • Tactical Urbanism

Update:

To help guide Largo’s growth into a vibrant, mixed-use center, The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission has launched a wayfinding, branding, and placemaking study.

We want to hear from you!  Please take a brief survey to tell us how you travel to and throughout Largo, perceive major features, and utilize public spaces. The survey will be available until December 10th.

As you provide answers to the questions in the survey, please consider timeframe prior to the outbreaks of COVID-19.
